Emergency Relief

support where the need is greatest

When natural disasters, war or other misfortunes strike, people often lose their homes, their security and their future in an instant.

In such moments, direct help is what matters most.

Equator deliberately chooses to support partners in the Global South who act immediately when their community is hit.

They know best where the needs are and how to provide life-saving support.

Every gift to Emergency Reliefgoes directly to these local heroes – helping them provide food, shelter, medical care and the rebuilding of what was destroyed.

Goma

In Goma, in eastern DR Congo, needs are piling up.

Violence between the Congolese army (FARDC) and Rwanda-backed M23 rebels has forced thousands of families to flee.

Our partner on the ground – Africa Reconciled – did not hesitate. When violence escalated, they mobilised their network and acted immediately: distributing food, clean water and medical supplies.

In a situation where larger organisations are often absent, they bravely continue.

Their efforts are impressive, but the needs remain immense.

Equator stands beside them – providing support and sharing their call for help.

Souleye – struck by the storm

Closer to home, one of our partners has also been hit by disaster.

Our friend Souleyesaw his modest house severely damaged by a storm: in a single gust, the roof was torn away.

For Souleye and his community, a difficult period begins.

Equator is determined to stand with him – together with you – to slowly rebuild safety and hope.
